Lauren runs the day-to-day operations at Tir Awel, overseeing crop planning and harvesting, as well as packing and delivery of the veg boxes. She runs weekly volunteer days and outreach in the wider community in the hope of allowing more and more people to realise the benefits that come from connecting more deeply with both the land around us and the food it allows us to grow.
Nicky and Tony caught in a rare moment of rest! Two long-term volunteers without whom we'd have a much slimmer harvest and a much less joyful growing site! They selflessly contribute so much of their time, energy and enthusiasm to Tir Awel: from sowing and weeding to sifting through funding applications and the finer points of company law, they truly are an indispensable asset.

Our volunteers are an invaluable part of our organisation, and we are so grateful to each and every person who offers their time to us. We run two volunteering sessions a week, one at our site in Kidwelly, and the other in partnership with The Hangout at our patch in Garnant.
There are always lots of things to do, varying by the time of year and the vagaries of the Welsh weather, but you'll always find a warm welcome and a cuppa. We owe our volunteers an immense amount of gratitude for all the work that they do, but we also think that it's two-way relationship, and they get a lot from joining us on the land, too. If you'd like to volunteer, just pop us a message at tirawelveg (AT) gmail.com to find out more.
